Hi, I’m Anja Svensson.
AMFT #163608 APCC #22813
I became a therapist because I'm endlessly curious about what it means to be human, how we adapt, what gives our lives meaning, and how our histories shape who we become. My work is grounded in rhythmic attunement, a cyclically-informed lens that pays attention to the personal, relational, and seasonal rhythms we often lose touch with, especially under pressure to override them.
I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, perfectionism, and questions of identity and purpose. My approach is warm, curious, and depth-oriented; I'm interested not just in symptoms, but in the deeper patterns beneath them. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and somatic perspectives, adjusting to each client's needs.
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor trained at Pacifica Graduate Institute, I bring a strong grounding in depth psychology to my work. Together, we'll build a relationship where you feel genuinely seen and work toward self-trust, clarity, and new ways of moving through your life.

My Approach
My clinical work focuses on the ways we survive, the stories we tell ourselves, the parts of us we hide, and the moments when life asks us to become someone new and what happens in the space in between.
Specialties
Anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life changes, grief, perfectionism, identity, and purpose.
My passion in this work…
What I call rhythmic attunement: a cyclically-informed lens that pays close attention to the rhythms that shape us, personal, relational, and seasonal. My studies and my own life have taught me that we often lose touch with these rhythms, especially when systems of power ask us to override or ignore them. Part of my work is helping people rebuild awareness of, and relationship to, these patterns, reclaiming what has been forgotten or hidden.
My master's thesis explored the role of the menstrual cycle in clinical practice, reflecting my broader interest in how the body's own rhythms can inform healing and deepen our relationship to ourselves, to others, and to the world.
